Location: La Quiaca, Yavi Department, Jujuy Province – ARGENTINA
Applicant entity: Claretian Province of San José del Sur
Local reference person: Fernando Guzmán cmf, Mission Procurator of SJS
Duration: 1 year
Total cost: €56,213.00
Funds needed: €25,000.00

Located at the Argentine–Bolivian border, this project strengthens the pastoral and community response to the urgent challenges faced by migrant families: lack of documentation, limited access to basic rights, precarious housing, and absence of support networks - difficulties intensified by Argentina’s current political and economic crisis. The initiative offers integral accompaniment, including legal and humanitarian assistance, listening and counseling spaces, temporary shelter, adult literacy, leadership training, and support for small productive initiatives.

Over the next three years, a central aim is to strengthen local leadership so the community itself becomes a driving force in welcoming migrants and creating sustainable, dignified responses. The project seeks partners committed to protecting human dignity at the border and supporting migrants both in their immediate needs and in their long-term empowerment.

Project III – Claretian Mission Day 2026

A school and learning programme for displaced tribal children in Laipharok, Manipur State, India

Location: Laipharok Village, Senapati District, Manipur State, INDIA
Applicant entity: Northeast India Province - Claretian Missionaries
Local contact: Fr. Janardhan Munnelli, cmf - Mission Procurator of NEI
Duration: 1 year (phase I)
Total cost: €35.000,00
Funds needed: €25,000.00

In the village of Laipharok and its surrounding areas, minor tribal communities are facing deep fear, isolation, and displacement following recent ethnic conflicts. Families have been uprooted, livelihoods destroyed, and many children left orphaned or semi-orphaned. With no safe spaces to learn or rebuild a sense of normalcy, these young people are growing up amid uncertainty and trauma.

This project seeks to respond to this urgent reality by establishing a center of learning with boarding facilities a secure place where displaced children can study, receive care, and find emotional stability.

Through education, the project promotes peace, coexistence, and long-term community rebuilding Beyond education, the center aims to foster peaceful coexistence among diverse tribal groups who have long been caught in cycles of violence.

The Claretians, newly present in the region, are committed to uplifting the community through education and longterm support. By creating a safe and nurturing environment, this project will offer children protection, hope, and the foundation for a more peaceful future-one where education becomes the path out of displacement and conflict.

Project II – Claretian Mission Day 2026

Rebuilding futures: study and literacy room for displaced children in Koudougou, Burkina Faso

Location: Ronsin Village, Koudougou Department – BURKINA FASO
Applicant entity: St. John Paul II Delegation
Local contact: Fr. Komenan Kouame Jacob cmf, Mission Procurator SJP
Duration: 6 months
Total cost: €9,800.00
Funds needed: €8,500.00

In the Koudougou region of Burkina Faso, many displaced children are growing up amid violence, instability, and the loss of their homes. Living in temporary camps, they face daily dangers: street begging, recruitment into gangs, human trafficking, and hazardous child labour. Girls carry additional risks of sexual exploitation and forced marriage. For most, access to school has disappeared.

To respond to this need, the Claretian Missionaries want to build and equip a study and literacy room in the village of Ronsin. This safe, dedicated space will give 50 displaced children the chance to return to learning through basic education, literacy support, and the distribution of school kits.

By reducing school dropout and offering protection from exploitation, the project will provide these children not only with education, but with dignity, stability, and the possibility of a different future.
