“Rights, Justice, and Action for and by all Women and Girls.”

Mar 5, 2026 | International Days

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, March 8, 2026, the JPIC Commission of the Claretian Family offers our communities a resource for prayer and reflection under the theme “Rights, Justice, and Action for and by all Women and Girls.” The material reminds us that, even today, deep legal and social gaps continue to limit equality, and it invites us to look at these realities through the lens of faith, recognizing the dignity, richness, and irreplaceable contribution of women in our cultures and in the life of the Church. As the document states: “No nation has yet closed the legal gaps between men and women” and “laws continue to disadvantage women in areas such as work, security, family, and mobility.”

This resource proposes a spiritual and communal journey—seeing, judging, praying, and acting—inspired by the testimony of so many women who, within and beyond consecrated life, have woven stories of faith, courage, and defense of life. Through prayers, questions for discernment, and concrete proposals for action, it encourages our communities to grow in a more synodal, inclusive, and prophetic style capable of transforming unjust realities and promoting a culture in which women and girls are fully recognized in their dignity. The material is designed to be easily integrated into community celebrations and gatherings.
